Ghost Edge is a shader which creates a clean outline using the edges of any mesh. It can be used for multiple purposes like a building system's placement preview, highlighting interactable objects or showing incomplete structures.
Features
- Outline any mesh with no extra setup, just assign the material
- Two configurable colors switchable at runtime
- Subtle interior fill for a ghost-like transparency effect
- Automatic depth occlusion vs. scene geometry
- Runs in both Play mode and Scene view
Requirements
- Unity 6 or newer
- HDRP only
Adjustable parameters
- Edge Thickness: how bold the outline is
- Depth & Normal Threshold: how sensitive the edge detection is to surface changes
- Fill Alpha: opacity of the ghost interior
- Valid / Invalid Color: your valid and invalid colors
