Overview

QuickSwap extends Game Creator 2's Inventory module with a dedicated slot-cycling layer built for real-time weapon and item switching. Instead of manually equipping items one at a time, QuickSwap lets players draw, stow, toggle, and cycle through a defined set of equipment slots (Right Hand, Primary, Sidearm, Special, Consumables, or any custom layout you define) using a single, consistent workflow.

Every part of the system is built to be customized:

  • Item Handles let you define exactly how each item is equipped which weapon it links to, whether it uses a prefab or object instance, and precisely where it's positioned on the character.
  • Handle Transitions are fully optional. Add an animated draw/stow gesture with a configurable marker (0–100%) to control exactly when the equip/unequip actually happens during the animation, or leave items to swap instantly.
  • Full Visual Scripting support exposes every action (draw, stow, use, toggle, cycle next/previous, skip transition) as Instructions and Conditions, plus Triggers for On Draw / On Stow / On Change so designers can build custom swap logic without touching code.

QuickSwap isn't tied to any one genre, it works for shooters, melee combat, survival, or any project where players need to switch between multiple equippable items quickly and cleanly. The Shooter and Melee Game Creator modules are used in the included examples but are entirely optional; QuickSwap works with just the Inventory module and functions fully without any UI.
