Overview

Elevate your winter environments with an industry-standard, highly optimized procedural snow shader engineered for the Universal Render Pipeline. This asset delivers AAA-quality snow accumulation, interactive deformation, and realistic melting transitions with optimized performance

Core Features

  • One-Slider Procedural Accumulation: Transform any base material from dry ground to a heavy blizzard with a single 0-to-1 coverage slider. The shader intelligently evaluates world-space angles and the underlying base normal map to accumulate snow naturally within cracks, crevices, and upward-facing geometry. Natively made on Unity's Shadergraph
  • Volumetric Edge Generation: The shader generates volumetric thickness at the edges of the snow accumulation mask. Snow appears as a thick, raised layer rather than flat white paint giving you a realistic look of snow pile without handling any vertex calculation.
  • Dynamic Melting & Puddle Belts: Automatically generates a precisely masked, high-gloss "puddle belt" strictly at the snow-to-ground transition edge. Simulates wet, melting snow with flattened tangent normals and darkened base albedo for hyper-realistic thawing effects.
  • Interactive Trampling & Deformation: Fully supports external render texture masking for dynamic interactions. Drive the interaction mask to seamlessly deform snow simulating footprints, vehicle tracks, or trampled dirt.
  • Advanced Normal Blending : Employs Reoriented Normal Mapping to mathematically blend the snow's physical micro-detail textures with the procedural volumetric edges, preventing vector degradation and rendering artifacts.
  • Art-Directable PBR Workflow: Full control over base texture tiling, procedural noise scales, snow tinting, bump strength, and independent smoothness values for both dry snow and wet snowmelts.

Free assets Rock and Boulders 2 and Cabin Environment are used for the demo of our Snow system.
