Chess games need more than just pieces sliding across a board. 344 SFX - Chess Moves is a large, detailed library built around the sounds of a full chess game, from unpacking the set to the final king topple.
Every piece-to-piece capture combination is recorded as its own set of sounds, so a bishop taking a knight sounds different from a rook taking a queen. Individual piece movement sounds are recorded per piece type, and castling gets its own recordings. The wooden board case opens and closes with latch sounds included, and board setup recordings cover pieces being placed at the start. Clearing the board, rummaging, tapping, sliding, and general piece movement are all covered with plenty of takes. A chess clock section includes ticking, button press, and winding up the timer. Nervous breathing and deep breath recordings add player atmosphere. Spoken number and letter files cover chess notation from A through H and 1 through 64, and individual chess terms including check, checkmate, castling, stalemate, gambit, and others are available as separate audio assets. Pencil writing sounds round out the competitive match feel.
All sounds are studio recorded, fully metadata tagged, and ready for Unity.
